Privacy policy

BuildLeads (“we”) is run by Naema Baskanderi in Ontario, Canada. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We follow Canada’s privacy law (PIPEDA) and anti-spam law (CASL).

What we collect

• Your email address — when you ask for a free sample list, sign in, or subscribe.
• Your preferences — the trades, cities and areas you choose, and how often you want emails.
• Leads you save — and the status you give them (contacted, quoted, won).
• Proof of consent — when you agreed to receive emails, so we can show we had permission.
• Payment details — handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
• Basic technical data — such as IP address and browser, which our hosting provider logs to keep the site running and secure.

Building permit data

The leads on BuildLeads come from building permits that Ontario cities publish as open data. We show what the cities publish — such as the address, the work described and, where a city lists it, the builder. We do not collect homeowners’ names or contact details. If you believe a listing should be removed, email hello@buildleads.ca.

How we use your information

• To send the sample list or lead emails you asked for.
• To run your account and subscription.
• To answer your questions and handle refunds.
• To keep the service secure and fix problems.

We don’t sell or rent your information, and we don’t share it with anyone for their own marketing.

Who helps us run the service

We use a few trusted providers. They only process your information to provide their service to us:

• Supabase — database and sign-in
• Vercel — website hosting
• Stripe — payments
• Resend — sending email

Some of these providers store data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local laws.

Emails and unsubscribing

We only email you if you asked us to. Every email has an unsubscribe link that works immediately, and you can change how often you hear from us in your account.

How long we keep it

We keep your account information while your account is open. If you close it or ask us to delete it, we delete it within 30 days, except records we must keep by law (such as payment and consent records).

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email hello@buildleads.ca and we’ll respond within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. Significant changes will be emailed to members.
